The market capitalisation of equities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday rose by N29 billion to close at N5.314 trillion  as the bulls strengthened their hold on the  market.
Also, the NSE All-Share Index rose by 0.6 per cent to close at 22,183.80, signifying a good week ahead.
The market had opened for 2010 with the bulls having a strong hold for seven consecutive days, pushing the  index and market capitalisation to new highs of 22,518.74 and N5.395 trillion respectively last Tuesday.
However, some investors moved in to take advantage of the capital gain recorded in the first few days of the year, which led to a dip in the market indicators for two days.
But the bulls regained control of the market last Friday, driving the indicators up by 0.5 per cent. The positive trend continued yesterday when trading opened for the week with the index growing by 0.6 per cent while the market capitalisation added N29 billion.
